Mission:
The Cincinnati Patriots Baseball Club was "officially" formed in 2008 to provide Cincinnati area youth the opportunity to learn and play baseball in a fun and positive environment. The Club's focus is giving youth a chance to develop fundamentally sound baseball skills and knowledge of the game. We also seek to instill the team concept as well as sportsmanship and respect for coaches, umpires, and teammates.
History
In 2004, Coach Donnie Wilson guided a young
thirteen-year-old knothole baseball team, playing out of Tealtown Ballpark, to
an undefeated season. In addition,
this talented team went on to become Cincinnati city knothole champions that
same year.
After experiencing success at the Knothole League
level, Donnie moved the team from Knothole to The American Amateur Baseball
Congress (AABC) by joining the Southwest Ohio
League (SWOL). The organization remained very informal during the first 3
years under the guidance of Donnie Wilson and Billy Boston. During this
time it consisted of four teams playing under the Tealtown Patriots name.
In 2007-2008 Greg and Kim Kimball took over the
leadership of the organization and renaming it to The Cincinnati Patriots
Baseball Club. Under Greg and
Kim’s leadership, the club created a structure of by-laws and team voting
procedures. The organization soon grew to ten teams in 2009 and was incorporated
as a 503(b) not-for-profit doing business out of Cincinnati, Ohio.
The founding officers of the Cincinnati Patriots
Baseball Club were Greg Kimball, President; Kevin McLaughlin, Vice-President;
Kim Kimball, Secretary and Kim McLaughlin, Treasurer. During this five
year stretch, The Cincinnati Patriots Baseball Club has seen many of its
Patriot teams end their seasons at the top of their respective divisions.
